The Dispute Review Board (or Dispute Avoidance Board) provides a cost effective alternative to Adjudication, Arbitration and Litigation for resolving disputes on building, engineering and construction projects.

Dispute Review Board Africa was established with the aim to provide an alternative form of preventing and resolving disputes in the construction, engineering and building industry.

The Dispute Review Board is therefore a creature of contract where the contracting parties may establish and empower the Board with jurisdiction to hear, advise, mediate or facilitate on the resolution of disputes. Furthermore to provide an Opinion and Recommendation, all with the objective to prevent a dispute to proceed to a costly process of Adjudication, Arbitration or Litigation.

Moreover, the Board may also provide an ex parte opinion to the one party, if requested to do so, to properly consider the merits and validity of a claim or dispute, before proceeding with the matter to Adjudication, Arbitration or Litigation.
